Reproductive care Center (RCC) is committed to helping you achieve your fertility goals in a cost effective manner.  We believe that participation in a program with a money back guarantee is a good option for many patients who want to pursue infertility treatment until pregnancy is achieved with subsequent delivery of a baby or until in the opinion of competent medical advisors, further attempts are not warranted.

What is an IVF Money Back Guarantee Program?

The Reproductive Care Center (RCC) is now offering an IVF Money Back Guarantee Program. We designed our program to allow as many patients as possible to participate.

Our IVF Money Back Guarantee program is for couples without insurance coverage. It allows them to prepay for a multi-cycle, treatment regimen where, if they do not achieve a viable pregnancy, then they get all or most of their money back. As a participant in this program, you prepay for all the treatments before you start. If you achieve a viable pregnancy in the first treatment cycle, then you will have paid a higher price for the treatment than you would have under a fee-for-service arrangement. However, if you do not achieve your pregnancy until the last cycle, you will have paid much less for the treatment cycles. This program works because some patients pay more than they might otherwise have needed to while others pay less. RCC may refund the entire fee even after many months of work. Due to our excellent we believe that we can remain financially sound while you get either a viable pregnancy or the majority of your money back.

The program allows you to undergo as many as four egg retrievals plus any frozen embryo transfers that result from excess embryos (potential value greater than $45,000). Two additional fresh egg retrievals can be purchased for an additional premium. Many patients are able to freeze enough embryos after the fresh embryo transfer for at least one additional frozen embryo transfer cycle. You always remain the owners of any frozen embryos even after you deliver your baby. However, frozen embryo transfer cycles after a successful delivery in the program requires additional costs because the money back guarantee contract only covers treatment up to the first viable pregnancy. The treatment cycles must be completed within two years.

In order for any IVF Money Back Guarantee program to work, the IVF center must exclude some patients with lower expectation for successful pregnancy. Most programs exclude a large percentage of patients. We specifically designed our program to allow most patients the opportunity to participate but those couples with medical conditions that would decrease the probability of pregnancy are required to pay an extra fee. The extra fee depends on which medical conditions are present and how much those conditions would likely lower the chance for a successful pregnancy. More than 90% of our patients would qualify for our IVF Money Back Guarantee program.

Requirements for Participation

If you want to participate in the IVF Money Back Guarantee program, you must first receive medical clearance. We require some tests of everyone who participates. We believe you would want these tests results even if you were not considering this program, but these tests might not be required for fee-for-service or global treatment package cycles.

  • We require a saline hysterosonogram (ultrasound) or a hysterosalpingogram (x-ray) to confirm a normal uterus within the past year. If a hysterosalpingogram is performed, a transvaginal ultrasound must also be completed within 6 months.

  • We require a day 3 FSH and estradiol level or if over the age of 34 a Clomiphene Citrate Challenge Test (CCCT) of the wife to identify those women with poor egg quality who would have low pregnancy rates.

  • We require a semen analysis at RCC with evaluation of strict sperm morphology (Kruger test). This test helps us predict the fertilization capability of the sperm.

  • We require that a physician review your medical records to identify any other medical or surgical condition that would significantly reduce your chances for success.

In addition to the tests and medical review mentioned, some medical conditions EXCLUDE you from participation. Examples of exclusionary factors are female age greater than 41, female body mass index <19 or greater than 35 (see www.BMI.com ), uncorrected large uterine fibroid tumors, previous pelvic irradiation for cancer, basal FSH levels above 12, more than two failed prior IVF cycles, history of 3 or more miscarriages or a history of poor ovarian stimulation.

Many medical conditions lower pregnancy success rates. Thus, we decided to require an additional premium for patients having such conditions to allow more patients the opportunity to participate in the program. We acknowledge that our financial analysis of the medical conditions may be somewhat subjective; but, we believe that couples with these conditions would otherwise not have the opportunity to participate in an IVF Money Back Guarantee program.  Examples of factors that may require a premium include age over 34, FSH levels above 8, single ovary, body mass index greater than 27, intramural fibroids or 2  prior failed IVF cycles.

Cost to Participate

The basic premium for couples who are optimal candidates for IVF is $21,300. This does not include the cost of any required prescreening testing (approximately $1,300) or the medications required for the treatment cycles (approximately $2,000-$3,500/stimulated fresh IVF treatment cycle). The total fee varies based on the woman's age and any premium factors. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Please understand that until you complete the medical tests and review them with a physician, the financial staff cannot provide you with a final price for participation. Clearly, since the medical findings dictate whether any extra premiums exist, the financial counselor simply cannot accurately compute the total price.

How to Participate

If you believe that you want to participate in the IVF Money Back Guarantee program, you must complete the following steps:

  • You must complete all medical tests for both the IVF Money Back Guarantee program and routine ART before contract signing and before starting treatment.

  • You must have a medical consultation with a physician or nurse practitioner to review your test results and to receive informed consent regarding the medical aspects of the IVF Money Back Guarantee contract before you start treatment under the terms of the contract.

  • You must meet with the financial services representative to sign the final contract and prepay for the medical services.

Please read the entire contract and discuss the program in detail with both the medical and the financial staff to understand many other important aspects of the program.

We hope that this brief review of the program helps you understand the basic benefits of participation, the process for qualification and your obligations. We look forward to helping you achieve your fertility goals.
